Raw Material:The Art and Life of Susan Kleckner

Raw Material: The Art and Life of Susan Kleckner is the first comprehensive survey of the pioneering feminist artist and filmmaker Susan Kleckner. Curated by William Kaizen, the exhibition spans over 40 years of creative experimentation and political engagement, offering a long-overdue exploration of Kleckner’s multifaceted career and illuminates her enduring influence on feminist, queer, and activist art practices in the U.S. and beyond. The exhibition comprises approximately 100 works across photography, film, video, installation, and performance. It will be accompanied by film screenings in collaboration with Lightbox Film Center, a scholarly monograph, and a restaging of one of Kleckner’s performance pieces by artist Kiran Jandu in collaboration with Public Trust.
