VE Day 80th Anniversary Lecture – The Soldier’s War: Understanding A Father’s Silence

In honor of the 80th anniversary of VE Day, local author Karen Marshall will share her insights from her book, Finding My Father’s Footsteps: A Journey Within the Battlefields of WWII.

Marshall traces her father Lt. John Sisson’s path from D-Day to VE Day with the 4th Infantry Division, revealing the hidden war journal that guided her journey and the astonishing tale of his acquisition of Heinrich Himmler’s personal copy of Mein Kampf.

A moving exploration of memory, war, and legacy.
