Campus tours at The Phelps School offer families a firsthand look at a premier all-boys private school for grades 6–12, where each student is known, supported, and challenged. As experts in how boys learn and grow, we guide our students through a dynamic academic experience, robust athletics, and a strong focus on social-emotional well-being. Core subjects are enriched with electives and specialized programs, including Computer Science, Life Sciences, and dual-enrollment opportunities in Math, International Relations, Composition and Literature, and more—through partnerships with the University of Pittsburgh and Immaculata. Our dedicated faculty, 60% of whom hold advanced degrees (including PhDs), create a rigorous yet supportive environment where boys can thrive.

The results speak for themselves: college acceptances include Bowdoin, Swarthmore, Brown, the University of Chicago, and the U.S. Air Force Academy, among so many others. Learning extends well beyond the classroom through clubs like Chess and Hiking and competitive athletics such as Basketball, Soccer, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu—one of the few elite schools to offer it.

Most recent notable alumni include Will Riley ’24, drafted 21st in the 2025 NBA Draft by the Washington Wizards, and Collins Oduro ’21, selected in the MLS Draft by Orlando City.
