Spring has finally sprung on the Main Line (#hopefully) and with it comes a fresh wave of openings, expansions, and buzzworthy local developments.
• Second Chance Plants Pop-up shops are blooming on the Main Line!
Just in time for spring planting, Second Chance Plants, an overstock plant outlet based in Pennsylvania and Maryland, has opened a few local “Pop-Up Shops”. Offering healthy plants from local greenhouses at seriously discounted prices, you’ll find everything from annuals and perennials to herbs, veggies, shrubs, and even trees—all up to 50% cheaper than big-box stores—so you can fill your garden without breaking the bank.
With outdoor locations in Broomall (Broomall Commons Shopping Center, next to Pep Boys), Exton Square Mall(near Whole Foods), Willow Grove Park Mall(between Bloomingdale’s & Macy’s), and Oxford Valley Mall(near Firestone & JCPenney). The Pop-Up Shops are open Monday – Friday 9AM-6PM, Saturday 8AM-6PM, Sunday 8AM-4PM.
• A Sweet Arrival: Handel’s Is Coming to Havertown!
One of the Main Line’s most well-known ice cream brands is expanding to Havertown, with a new shop opening at the former home of Al Pastor, which closed in January.
With his two children involved in the family business, the owner of the popular Berwyn storefront, Buck Buchanan been looking to expand for years and choose the new location because of its strong family values, central location, and his daughter and grandsons are Havertown residents.
Similar to the Berwyn flagship, Handels Havertown will offer walk-up counter service only with outdoor patio seating.
The Buchanan family is still finalizing blueprints and awaiting township approvals, but they hope to open the Havertown Handel’s this summer at 13 West Benedict Ave.
• Ardmore has officially entered its Rip-and-Dip Era!
After months of anticipation, PopUp Bagels has finally opened Suburban Square, bringing its buzzworthy, no-frills approach to bagels to the Main Line. Known for its simple menu—freshly baked bagels served warm with a variety of flavored schmears—the shop has built a devoted following for doing the basics exceptionally well. Now open and already drawing a crowd, it’s time to see if the ‘rip and dip’ lives up to the hype! Beat the line & pre-order.

• Sweet, savory, and oh-so-buttery, a new biscuit bakery has opened and West Chester just got a little more delicious!
The Biscuit Lady recently opened its second location in downtown West Chester, bringing its cult-favorite, butter-forward biscuits to the borough. Known for its oversized, scratch-made biscuits and creative menu, the popular bakery offers a rotating menu of sweet and savory flavors like honey brown butter, blueberry lemon, garlic cheddar, and “holy biscuits” (a donut-inspired twist)—plus indulgent biscuit sandwiches and steaming cups of coffee to match.
The shop has already built a loyal following across the region with more than 46,000 Instagram followers. Now settling into its new location, the fan-favorite spot is fast becoming the go-to spot for and indulgent, but comfort-driven breakfast and lunch.

• Nudy’s Café opens its 15th Location!
Main Line area favorite Nudy’s Café has opened another location in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania. The new spot will be housed in the former Bryn Mawr Trust Bank building on W. Baltimore Pike, and will feature 70 indoor seats and a 30‑40 seat outdoor patio for the warmer months.
Founded in 1979, Nudy’s has grown steadily across Delaware, Chester, and Montgomery Counties, building a loyal following with its classic, community‑friendly menu. Owner Ray Nudy says “the Glen Mills location benefits from nearby fans already familiar with the brand, including those from Havertown and Chadds Ford’.
With this opening, Nudy’s continues to bring its welcoming atmosphere and beloved dishes to more neighborhoods across the Philadelphia suburbs.

Montgomery Township just opened a shopping destination that will make a difference in local communities!
The brand-new 44,000‑square-foot Habitat for Humanity ReStore in the Montgomery Commons Shopping Center is officially open — and it’s one of the largest ReStores in the country. From furniture and appliances to building materials, clothing, and household treasures, there’s something for everyone. Every item sold helps fund Habitat’s mission of building and repairing homes across Montgomery and Delaware counties. Organizers hopethe store will serve as a “regional hub” for reuse and donation, providing second homes for various items while promoting a sustainable and affordable community model.

The long-awaited transformation of the Ardmore Train Station is finally complete!
After a six-year renovation project, that was originally slated to take only two and a half years, the $60 million project has delivered a fully ADA-accessible transit hub featuring high-level platforms for level boarding, a modern station building, and a renovated parking lot.
The brand-new station opened to commuters on March 23, but SEPTA is planning to hold an official grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony in the coming weeks.
