Nature’s Vin Wine Bar & Shop Opens in Wayne
A new spot for wine lovers is opening this week! Nature’s Vin makes its debut Nov. 7 at 193–197 E. Lancaster Ave. in Wayne. The cozy wine bar and shop is owned by Ragini Parmar and run by Elyse Lovenworth, a certified sommelier with 17 years of experience.
Guests can enjoy more than 100 wines by the glass or bottle, along with sharable bites at the bar. The shop will sell bottles, gourmet snacks, books, and unique gifts — most wines priced between $25–$45, with a few rare finds over $50. Expect pop-up tastings, private events, and art from local female artists, plus decor from women-owned brands. A decorative archway filled with notes from Parmar’s family and friends adds a personal touch between the bar and shop. Open Tues–Thurs noon–9 p.m. and Fri–Sat noon–10 p.m., with seating for 28 and a 10-person communal table for tastings.
•Downtown Wayne has a new parking lot available for visitors.

•Charles Barkley’s New Steakhouse & Cigar Lounge Coming to MontCo

•Down the Rabbit Hole
Pssst….the Main Line has a speakeasy—no password or stealth handshake required! You WILL need some luck snagging a spot, however. Located in the lower level of Maison Lotus in Wayne (there’s no sign; enter through the camouflaged door), Jade Rabbit features just eight bar stools and five tables, plus limited hours to keep things interesting. Talk about exclusive!
Choose from The Jade Rabbit Experience, a five-course cocktail and food pairing (don’t worry; the bartenders lower the alcohol content so you can still stand at the end) OR a three-course cocktail progression. À la carte drinks and small bites are available too, including umami popcorn, tree caviar and Bangkok toast. Hungry for more? Jade Rabbit also serves “bigger bites” like flower dumplings, Chilean sea bass and wagyu steak, plus desserts.
Jade Rabbit is located at 175 Lancaster Avenue in Wayne, inside Maison Lotus. Use Resy (and cross your fingers!) to reserve bar seats and tables.
• From Fridge to Foyer
Kids’ artwork piling up? Local artist Lauren Proud will turn doodles and scribbles into a gallery-worthy showpiece for your home. Her business, Pop Goes the Doodle, transforms paintings and sketches into modern, eye-popping collages—just in time for gift-giving season.
The idea for the biz took root when Proud was sorting her own children’s artwork stored in basement bins. The artwork felt too precious to toss but not quite right to frame either. Once she started playing around with the pieces and experimenting with different patterns and color combinations, Pop Goes the Doodle was born.
As part of the process, clients show their kids’ artwork to Proud (all drawings, doodles and paintings gladly accepted!), sharing their color preferences and where they plan to display the piece. Once clients are happy with the collage, Proud frames the final product. Cue the applause.
• Shhh….I’m Reading!
The rules are simple:
- BYO book (no assigned reading required!)
- Settle into a comfy seat.
- Start reading. Quietly!
- Chat with fellow readers afterward and share book recs (or not!).
West Chester’s brand-new chapter of the Silent Book Club gathers in cafes, bars, lounges, bookstores and libraries to read in quiet camaraderie. Attendees spend the first half hour chatting and grabbing drinks or food, followed by an hour of silent reading. Once the hour is up, readers are welcome to stay and discuss what they’ve read or even swap books.
Follow the club on Instagram for meeting dates and times!
• Johnny Be Goooood!
Johnny’s Pizza just opened a sister shop in Wayne. Fans of the cult favorite pizza and cheesesteak spot (included in The 76 this year, The Philly Inquirer’s annual list of the most vital restaurants) know that you need to get your game face on to snag a slice! Online ordering is out, and you might have to call several times before someone picks up. Regulars know to call early on weekends.
According to The 76, Johnny’s has a cheesesteak that “rivals South Philly’s best” and “maybe the best pizza in the region.” People go bananas over the White Pie, which features layers of fresh mozzarella, caramelized onions, lemony ricotta and Pecorino-Romano on a sesame-seeded crust. The new Wayne location includes more ovens and square footage, which should (hopefully) appease crowds.
Johnny’s is located at 369 W. Lancaster Avenue, in the Strafford Shopping Center.
• How to Help SNAP Recipients
About one in eight Americans use the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to purchase groceries; children, the elderly and people with disabilities comprise the bulk of recipients.
With the continued federal government shutdown, SNAP benefits are in jeopardy.
